Longford County Council Cathaoirleach Cllr Turlough McGovern
Cllr Turlough McGovern has commended all involved in the creation of the North Longford Rebel Audio Trail, which was launched at Granard Knights and Conquests.
Speaking at the November meeting of Granard Municipal District, Cllr McGovern said the launch of the audio trail was a great event for Granard.
“We were at the launch of the North Longford Rebel Audio Trail in Knights and Conquests and it was very interesting,” he said.
“I know it was short, but it was very interesting. I have to compliment the team that put it together in Granard. It was nice to see North Longford on the map with good trails.”
Cathaoirleach of Granard MD, Cllr Colin Dalton, agreed that the Rebel Trail is a fantastic initiative for north Longford.
“It’s very important we keep North Longford on the map,” he said. “Knights and Conquests is going from strength to strength. There’s a beautiful restaurant down there that’s doing well, so continued success to Knights and Conquests and also to all the trails in the North Longford area.”
Cllr Dalton also highlighted the fact that a number of events will be taking place along the trails in the run-up to Christmas.
“I know the last two years, with Covid, there were different restrictions, but I know with all the trails, coming up to Christmas, there’s going to be different events happening,” he said.
