Plans underway to more than double number of rooms at Carlingford Nursing Home

Significant further information provided to Louth County Council on planned development

Plans are progressing for a development at the Carlingford Nursing Home in Carlingford that would see, if given the go ahead, a more than doubling in the number of bedrooms at the nursing home.

Cooley Nursing Home Limited applied to Louth County Council in September 2022 for planning permission for an extension to the existing nursing home consisting of a new two storey extension to the west side of the site.

The proposed extension would see an increase the bedroom count from 41 bedrooms to 98 bedrooms. The planning application also provided for a new external plant room to the north, landscaping, new bicycle shelter and minor alterations to land profiles, an increase in parking provisions from 33 to 51 spaces.

The local planning authority sought further information on the planned development on 20 October 2022. Significant further information was provided to Louth County Council on 23 December 2022. A decision is now due on 28 January with submissions due by 14 January.
