Louth Library Service will be hosting a talk entitled “Co. Louth Cumann na mBan and the Civil War” by historian Ailbhe Rogers, in conversation with Louth County Council Historian in Residence Dr Thomas Tormey.
It will be held in Dundalk Library tomorrow, Friday, January 20th at 3pm as part of the Louth County Council Decade of Centenaries Programme.
Ailbhe Rogers is a local part-time historian from Togher, Co. Louth. She holds a BA in History and Nua-Ghaeilge, and an MA in Irish History – both from Maynooth University.
She has published and lectured widely during the Decade of Centenaries on the subject of women during the Irish revolutionary era.
She works as a library administrator in the Royal Irish Academy, Dublin.She has also made contributions on the subject to various history publications including County Louth and the Irish Revolution, 1912-1923 (2017) edited by Dónal Hall and Martin Maguire, published by the Irish Academic Press.
All are welcome to attend, with no booking required.
