Rape Crisis North East is offering people the opportunity to attend a Helpline Training Programme funded by the National Lottery.
The training will commence on Friday 24th February and finish on Saturday 11th March 2023.
The training is free and in return, the Rape Crisis North East centre is asking people to commit to four hours of their time per week to provide telephone counselling support to survivors of rape and sexual violence.
The Helpline Training Programme will take place in the Rape Crisis North East, Cherrywood Counselling Centre, Jocelyn House, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk.
It is a six day workshops over three weekends – two days per week Fridays and Saturdays from 9.00am to 5.00pm.
RCNE Helpline Service is a “lifeline” for many victims of rape and sexual abuse who need to talk to someone who cares.
“All our telephone volunteers are trained to listen, support and offer information and counselling support to callers who use the line”, a spokesperson said.
