As part of Catholic Schools' Week 2023 Monastery NS Ardee hosted their Grandparents Day in the school.
“Because of Covid it has been two years since our Grandparents could come into our school and visit our girls and boys in class.
“So it was no surprise that a huge crowd of almost 200 Grandparents came to see their Grandchildren in Monastery NS on Wednesday January 25th and enjoyed the refreshments in the school Gym afterwards,” Principal Jim Mc Gee said.
A wide variety of activities took place in each classroom and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Our Grandparents were also delighted to see our first year of coeducation and our boys and girls in their Junior Infant classrooms.
“They all agreed that it's a wonderful positive development for the school”, Mr McGee continued.
Mr McGee thanked everyone for coming and said “it was great to see our school community back enjoying themselves in our school again”.
He also asked everyone to remember all the Grandparents who used to come and visit them each year and who are not with them today. He asked everyone to keep them in their prayers.
