Louth GAA have officially announced their latest fundraising campaign as their new stadium seating plan initiative was unveiled at a Launch Night in the Imperial Hotel, Dundalk last Thursday.

Attended by many local officials, including current Louth County Council Cathaoirleach Conor Keelan, alongside the President of the GAA Larry McCarthy, the night saw Louth GAA give more details on a new three ticket that people can purchase.

Buying this ticket will give a person admission to all Louth’s home Allianz League Football and hurling fixtures for a three-year period, as well as access to the all club adult championship finals during that timeframe.

Buyers will get an exclusive invitation to the stadium’s opening ceremony and the first match played at the facility, plus entry into yearly draws for both Football and Hurling All Ireland Final tickets in each of the three years. Should any concerts take place there, they also get first refusal on tickets.

As an added incentive to get involved early, the first 1500 to sign up will get their hands on limited edition stadium merchandise and get their names inscribed on a special recognition wall which will showcase the role they played in finally getting a modern GAA stadium in the county.

While close to 75 percent of the costs have already been raised, helped greatly by the Immigrant Investor Programme, the county board are hopeful this is the next step in making their dream of a new stadium a reality. They hope to sell 1500 seats at €1000 ahead of its proposed 2024 opening.

Of course, times are tough, and this is a huge commitment during a time where many families are struggling. But to help those who want to get involved in the scheme, Louth GAA has teamed with local credit unions to provide people with loans should they require them.

“We know €1000 is an awful lot of money, so we are delighted that the local credit unions are willing to do a deal to get the funds at a low interest rate” confirmed county board chairman Peter Fitzpatrick.

“It is a big ask, 1500 people is a lot, but we have been waiting for the last 60 years and I know a lot of people would love to have the stadium. This is their opportunity to be part of the new stadium, as people do want to contribute towards it.

“Our goal is when the stadium is built and we hope to have that open by September 2024, the county board will be left with no debt on the stadium. It’s a one off, so we are hoping the people of Louth will give us a hand to make our dreams come through.”
