Eleanor McEvoy and Vladimir Jablokov among  acts on way to Dundalk Gaol

Acclaimed violinist Vladimir Jablokov returns to Dundalk Gaol on Saturday 15 April

A number of top acts are on the way to the Oriel Centre at Dundalk Gaol over the next few months, that are already attracting a high level of interest.

Tickets are in high demand for what will be an uplifting performance, when one of Irelands most accomplished contemporary singer/songwriters, Eleanor McEvoy, performs in the intimate settings of The Oriel Centre on Saturday 25 March at 8.30 pm.

Eleanor McEvoy achieved star status in Ireland in 1992 when her song “A Woman's Heart” was the title track for the A Woman's Heart anthology album. A Woman’s Heart has since gone on to become the best-selling album in Irish history. Eleanor has gone on to become world known, with her critically acclaimed canon of work spaning sixteen albums and appearances on numerous compilation albums.

Eleanor is currently touring throughout the UK and her performance in the Oriel Centre will be one of the first ones on her Irish tour. Tickets are €30 and are available from www.orielcentre.ie or from the Oriel Centre reception.

After the rapturous welcome that acclaimed violinist Vladimir Jablokov received when he last played in the Oriel Centre, Dundalk Gaol, he will be making a return visit on Saturday 15th April 2023.

Vladimir has headlined in venues such as the National Concert Hall, INEC, University Concert Hall, Cork Opera House, National Opera House, and the BBC Proms Belfast, and has been thrilling audiences since he first moved to Ireland 17 years ago.

This performance will be a rare opportunity to see Vladimir Jablokov in a close and intimate setting so very early booking is advised. Tickets are €25

Saturday 29 April sees the return of Dani Larkin, to the Oriel Centre. Dani Larkin is an artist renowned for her unforgettable live performances, her magical songwriting with her vocal always taking centre stage, accompanied by her impressive guitar and banjo playing.

The release of her debut album ‘Notes For A Maiden Warrior’ triggered an almighty trajectory for this young emerging folk artist - appearing live at SXSW, Reeperbahn, Doolin Folk Festival, WOMEX, Folk Alliance, Hibernacle to name a few, as well as opening for such acts as Wallis Bird, Declan O’Rourke, Hot House Flowers and Ye Vagabonds on their nationwide tours.
Tickets for this intimate show are €18.

Finally, on 27 May making a very welcome return visit to the Oriel Centre is Something Happens legend, Tom Dunne. Tom will be joined by Alan Connor so expect a night of songs and stories from the Paisley underground.

One of the leading Irish bands of their generation, Something Happens are regarded as one of the most iconic bands to emerge from Ireland with an enviable back catalogue of Top 30 singles and hit albums, including "Stuck Together With God’s Glue" and "Been There, Seen That, Done That", which brought them international acclaim. 

Their single "Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello, Hello (Petrol)" was also included in top fifty singles in rock magazine NME. Tickets for this very special night are €30. Doors open at 8pm and onstage at 8.30pm.
