With the Winter now well behind us and the days starting to finally get a bit longer, attention is already turning to the Summer sporting season in Louth.

Front and centre to the local calendar is the return of the Dundalk and District League. And no better way to kickstart the league action then with the news on the 35th annual Clancy Cup.

With that in mind, a Cup formation meeting was due to take place on Monday March 6th. However, this has now been rescheduled for Tuesday March 7th, due to a clash with Dundalk's SSE Airtricity League match with Shelbourne that night.

This meeting will be the last chance for new teams/clubs to sign up for the new season, as the draw will also take place on the night for the highly coveted trophy.

Anybody joining in 2023 will have formidable opposition to usurp if they wish to land any silverware. Last season was a clean sweep for Shamrocks FC, who finished the year off by securing the treble of the league, Clancy Cup and McConville Cup.

The formation meeting will held at Oriel Park at 7:30PM. For more info on joining the Dundalk & District league or about this meeting, you can contact them at admin@dund.ie or via their social media pages.
