The 2023 Clancy Cup format and draw has been announced by the Dundalk and District League ahead of the start of the new local soccer season.

The latest edition will see nine teams contesting the 35th running of the popular competition, with ties set to get underway in early May.

This year it is a straight knockout tournament, with a preliminary round deciding the eighth team in the quarter finals.

There was no special treatment for reigning champions Shamrocks FC, who will contest the opening round where they will face off against Bellurgan United. The winner is set to lock horns with Muirhevna Mor FC.

Last year's runners up in the Clancy Cup Glenmuir United have been drawn against Quay Celtic as they look to go one better that last season, where they lost 2-0 in the final.

Shamrocks were clearly the team to beat last year, having collected an impressive local treble of the league, Clancy Cup and McConville Cup.

A breakdown of the draw in full can be found below.
