The decision by Louth County Council to grant planning permission for a 17 unit housing development in a mix of houses and apartments has been appealed to An Bord Plealála.
Propmount Enterprises Ltd was granted planning permission for the development at Dromiskin, Dundalk, Co L, uth, that would see the demolition of an existing dwelling house at the site and the construction of a development, comprising a two-bed detached house; eight, three-bed semi-detached houses and two blocks of duplex apartments.
The first block of apartments comprise three, two-bed apartments and three, three-bed apartments, while the second block comprises one, one-bed apartment and one, two-bed apartment.
Louth County Council granted planning for the development on 24 February, following the submission of significant further information in relation to the development. The decision was appealed to An Bord Pleanála on 23 March by Milena Dimitrova and Ian Campbell.
Among the reasons for appealing the decision to grant planning permission, the appellants say that the development is not in keeping with the surrounding environment and pays no regard for existing residences or buildings in the area, and that the development belongs to an Inner Urban Centre locality and not in an existing village.
