Gaelic footballer convicted of assault during match in Louth

A Gaelic footballer accused of a serious assault during a match in County Louth, was convicted at Dundalk Circuit Court last week.

A jury found 29 year old Jack Butterly of Clonmore, Togher guilty of assault causing harm at the grounds of Naomh Fionnbarra, Ballygassan, Annagassan on April 19th 2019.

Judge Dara Hayes, who directed that a victim impact report be prepared, remanded the defendant on bail to June 7th, when a date for sentencing is expected to be fixed.
