The National Director of Junior Cycle for Teachers, Dr Pádraig Kirk, was in Coláiste Chú Chulainn last week to present the 2022 Junior Cycle Profiles of Achievements.

Speaking of the visit of Dr Kirk, Deputy principal Ms Niamh O'Neill stated: "It is a great honour for us to have Dr Kirk in our school for these awards.

"The Junior Certificate was reformed under Dr Kirk's leadership. Now all students receive evidence of their exam results, skills and additional achievements. Some of our student's certificates detail their five languages, All Ireland sporting successes, engineering innovations and community-based actions."

Dr Kirk was the Chief Executive in charge when Coláiste Chú Chulainn was sanctioned as a new school for the area. He explained the importance of innovation to the students assembled:

"Coláiste Chú Chulainn is a leader in innovation in Irish education. Your building has the highest specifications in design and your equipment is the most modern available. It is a source of pride to all of us in education leadership that you have built a culture of success and achievement in your nine year's history. 

Student, Franciszik Chmielecki spoke on behalf of the students in thanking Dr Kirk for his advice: "As a student body, we are proud of the certificates you are awarding to us. we worked hard for them and know that they are a valuable account of our efforts.

"The Junior Cycle has set us on a positive road in our senior studies and we are committed to doing our best."
