JOHN MITCHELS 4-11 NAOMH MALACHI 1-13
A well-rounded display from John Mitchels made it three wins from three to go top of Division 3B against Naomh Malachi.
Some clinical shooting from Robbie Coyle saw the crafty forward finish with an incredible personal tally of 4-2, that saw the Ballybailie men leave Courtbane with a well-earned win.
Coyle was backed up by a rock-solid goalkeeping performance from David Anderson, a composed defensive performance throughout, along with some exceptional fielding from Trevor Matthews and Andrew Bingham in midfield.
The game started in a nervous fashion. Colin Rooney settled the hosts down with an early goal, but in between Coyle’s first two goals Kevin Gallagher kicked two fine points to make it 2-5 to 1-3 at half time.
The second half started in similar fashion to the first with both sides going point for point, the Mitchels scores coming from Jake Gillespie and Mikey Nulty, before two Coyle goals sealed the game.

ANNAGHMINNON ROVERS 1-9 CUCHULAINN GAELS 0-4
Annaghminnon Rovers forward Dylan Mulholland’s exquisite chip over the Cuchulainn Gaels goalkeeper Seamus Quigley from outside the small square sealed this Thursday night Division 3B game off as a contest.
Playing in the first half into the strong wind, the visitors to the unbeaten Stonetown outfit only got the ball over the bar twice in both halves, once by Jamie Molloy and once by James Sharkey. A high number of wides saw Annaghminnon power to a 0-7 to 0-4 half time lead.
After the break, conditions worsened with the rain getting heavier. Gaels did not capitalise on the wind at their backs for the second half and an impressive Rovers full forward line of Dwayne Markey and Aidan Lee Martin added to their tallies.

ST NICHOLAS 2-7 WESTERNS 2-6
In a rain soaked Reaghstown, it was St Nicholas who left with all the points following a tense affair with Westerns on Saturday evening. In a game of two halves, ironically both teams playing wind the aid of the wind struggled.
An early fisted goal from the Westerns veteran Anthony Durnin gave them an early lead. The Nicks had a lot of possession but their delivery into the forwards was disappointing. They only added two from play through Aaron Flanagan and Ruaisí Hanlon.
Westerns extended their lead through two frees and a James Maguire major from play. A late Phillip Kirwan free completed an underwhelming Nicks first half as they trailed 2-3 to 0-4.
Playing into the breeze in the second half, the Nicks started to reduce the deficit through Lee Kavanagh, and 1-1 from Cebhan Housidari. Fionn Meagher then found the back of the net and a Brian Carter fisted effort had the Nicks one up.
The home side equalised late on, but from the resulting kick out the impressive Hanlon drove forward and slotted over the winner.
