Dundalk & District League Week 3 Roundup: Muirhevnamor narrowly go top of the pile

Bellurgan United 1 Quay Celtic 4

Quay continued their winning start with a comprehensive 4-1 victory in Flynn Park to join a crowded pack on six points at the summit of the league table.

Star of the game was Quay's Ryan McDonnell, who gave them a ninth minute lead and then completed a hattrick with well a taken brace.

Right on half time, Brady Duffy cut Quays 2-0 lead with his second goal this term. Within minutes of the restart Quay added to their lead and Rory Kirk, the former Rock Celtic player, got on the score sheet to ease the visitors to victory.

Rock Celtic 2 Carrick Rovers 2

In a very entertaining game, both teams trooped off happy with each having gained their first point of the season.

Sam Twibal and Neil Smyth got the home side's scores, while Stephen O'Rourke and Keith Farnan replied for Carrick, who also had their outstanding goalkeeper to thank for ensuring a precious away point.

Muirhevnamor FC 4 St Dominics 0

This refined fixture saw the Blues go top of the table on goal difference.

Tiernan Mulvenna grabbed his 3rd strike of the campaign, while player manager Mickey O'Kane chipped in with a goal too before a brace from Alex Periera completed a comfortable win. This was the Saints first defeat after a two game winning run.
