This June, tens of thousands of women will take to the streets of Dublin for the 2023 Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon. The event, now in its 41st year, will take place on Bank Holiday Sunday 4 June, with women from all over Ireland walking, jogging or running the 10km route through Dublin City Centre.

One of the women taking part this year is Louth woman Eva Halton.  Eva is from Drogheda and will be representing Acquired Brain Injury Ireland.

Eva tells her story: “Back in 2008, I acquired a brain injury due to a road traffic accident. It was a tough time for me, but with the help of Acquired Brain Injury Ireland and their amazing staff, I was able to overcome my challenges and start my journey towards recovery.

"I'm originally from Cavan, but I now consider Drogheda my home. Since 2017, I have been living in the Lisrath Residential service, where the staff have been exceptional in supporting me with my everyday needs.

"I'm really excited to participate in the Vhi Women's Mini Marathon in June, along with some staff members from my service. Walking is one of my favourite pastimes, and I love taking advantage of the stunning scenery in county Louth.

"I feel honoured to represent my county in this event and support an organisation that has helped not only me but many others across the country.  I love to give my time to train and complete the walk. Join me on this journey and let's make it a day to remember!”

The 2023 Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon will be a celebration of togetherness, and whether you participate with friends, family or by yourself, you’ll be part of a special community. Enter this year’s event at www.vhiwomensminimarathon.ie.

Entrants can set up a dedicated fundraising page with Givengain, the event’s fundraising partner at www.givengain.com.
