Dundalk & District League Round 4

Quay Celtic 1 Shamrocks 4

Played in the Army pitch, it took until the half hour mark for Robbie Mackin to break the deadlock with a rocket to the roof of Padraig McConville's net. Just before the half time whistle, Chris Clark swooped in to bundle home an equaliser past Sean Smyth.

Gavin Gaffey unlocked the sides on the 60th minute with a well drilled low shot to put the Hoops ahead. Dean Brown quickly added another goal with a terrific shot from distance only minutes later.

Gaffey struck again in the 68th minute with a superb free kick from the touch line into the far corner of the net. The eight minute scoring spree sealed a deserved victory for the reigning champions.

Carrick Rovers 2 Bellurgan United 3

Thanks to goals from Jerome Abenyakale and Rian McCann, the home side lead by 2-0 with 10 minutes remaining, looking certain to pick up their first win of the campaign.

However, there was a thrilling comeback by Bellurgan that saw them hit three goals to secure their first win. Dano Kerr's brace levelled the game, before John Smyth bagged the winner.

Rock Celtic 1 St Dominics 5

St Dominics went joint top of the League with a very convincing victory away to Rock Celtic. Greg Shannon gave the Saints the lead after just four minutes, with a close range score. A header from Colm Bracken doubled the lead on 13 minutes.

Midway through the half, Neil Smyth with his second goal in as many games, levelled matters with a tap in. The second half also saw Colm Bracken lob the stranded Rock keeper to put the Friary side 3-1 ahead with his 4th goal of the season.

An own goal soon followed to extend the visitors lead to 4-1. Greg Shannon, courtesy of a well placed shot, completed the scoring with his 9th goal of the campaign. This leaves him as the league's current top scorer.

Muirhevnamor FC 2 Rampart Celtic 3

Rampart Celtic, thanks to two penalties from Sean Bailey and a goal from keeper David Lynch, narrowly edged past Muirhevnamor to claim all three points in an exciting contest in the Blues' backyard. Tiernan Mulvenna and Daniel Duffy got the home side's goals.
