Dundalk Sub Aqua Search and Rescue Unit along with a number of recreational divers, made the long journey across country to Mullaghmore in Co. Sligo on Saturday.
While there they dived twice, the first just beyond the harbour in Mullaghmore, with a 50 minute dive to 20 metres plus for some.
The conditions were perfect & visibility was very good.
The second dive took them another 10k to the island of Inishmurray where another dive was successfully completed.
A spokesperson for the unit said:
“Besides the recreational side of diving, it is important for us in Search & Rescue to acclimatise ourselves with other areas around the country. This enables us to work in different conditions, should our services be required.
“Dundalk Sub Aqua Search and Rescue Unit always remains on standby where & whenever we are needed.”
