Dundalk folk trio The Mary Wallopers have announced that they will be playing at this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
Fresh off the release of their self titled debut album, which was nominated for album of the year at the RTÉ Choice Music Prize, the band will take to the Acoustic Stage at the festival
The stage is known for showcasing blues, folk, contemporary or country music and in the past has welcomed Ray Davies, Christy Moore, Joan Baez, Jackson Browne, The Waterboys, Robert Plant, The Moody Blues featuring… Michael Eavis, John Prine, Art Garfunkel, Kate & Anna McGarrigle, Keane and The Bootleg Beatles, amongst many others.
This year the Dundalk band will be joined by Paul Carrack, currently on top form, as well as the legendary Steve Earle and Rickie Lee Jones. There will also be performances from other tent favourites, Sharon Shannon and The Bootleg Beatles.
This years Glastonbury Festival will run from Friday 23rd June - Sunday 25th June.
