Dundalk and District League Round Up

St Dominics 3 Bellurgan United 2

After a very evenly contested half hour of play, Ryan Duffy finished off a great Bellurgan move with a simple tap in for their lead. The Saints upped the pressure, forcing three corners in succession, leading to Colm Braken levelling the score just before the break.

Midway through the second period Darragh Brady restored the visitors lead with a close range shot. The home side piled on the pressure, but found Bellurgan's keeper in exceptional form with a string of excellent saves.

With five minutes left Steven Begley blasted home an equaliser to leave the sides level. In added time Colm Bracken with his 6th strike this term, earned his side all three points.

Bellurgan keeper Shane Rogan produced a man of the match performance in defeat. His countless saves helping keep his side in the contest.

Rampart Celtic 3 Rock Celtic 1

20 minutes into the first half, Sean Bailey cut in from the right to fire low into the far corner to put Rampart ahead. Close to halftime, Rock were unlucky to see a great strike come back off the upright, leaving the interval score at 1-0.

Within four minutes of the restart a Matthew Kirwan header from a corner kick put Rampart 2-0 ahead. On 77 minutes a tap in from Lee Wright stretched the lead, before Luke Johnson got a consolation score for the Rock on 90 minutes.

The win sees Rampart joining St Dominics at the summit, both with 12 points.
