MANNAN CASTLE SENIORS

After his stellar performance in the previous day's Kennedy Trophy, David Murphy maintained his great form to take the overall prize in the Mannan Castle Weekly Seniors 9-hole competition.

Despite a no score on the last hole, David recorded five 3-pointers on an otherwise error free card to finish with 21 points.

In category 1, seniors stalwart Jimmy McMahon recovered from a slow start to card two birdies and three pars in his next six holes to finish with an excellent 20 points.

Sam Duffy also had 20 points in winning category 2, having a very steady round which included a great birdie on his fourth hole which was the par 4 13th.

MANNAN CASTLE LADIES

Angela Evers and Anne Fleming turned out to be latest 'A-Team', having been runaway winners of the Daisy Ferguson Scotch Foursomes Qualifier.

They dovetailed nicely, scoring 20 points on the front nine even with a blip on the 9th hole. The back nine was even better, with five 3-point holes to finish with 21pts.

Well done to everyone who played. We had a fantastic turnout for this competition. 19 pairs played overall, the scoring was good, and we had 3 x 37’s tie for 2nd place.

But only one pair will represent Mannan and Angela and Anne have won that honour. Hopefully they bring their ‘A’ game to the Daisy Ferguson Trophy Final in Royal County Down on Monday 31st of July.

Daisy Ferguson Scotch Foursomes Wednesday 17th May – Winners:  Angela Evers / Anne Fleming (34) 41pts.
