Dundalk RFC will have a new head coach next season with the news that Pat Kenny will take over from Dave Fearon.
Kenny comes to the Mill Road club with a strong pedigree, having worked in the past as a Community Development Officer for Leinster Rugby as well as coaching at Clongowes Wood College, a school that has produced the likes of Tadgh Beirne, Gordon D'Arcy and even Louth's own Rob Kearney over the years.
The Wicklow native also brings AIL experience to the table from his time working with Old Belvedere and Navan RFC.
Also among his coaching ticket will be Colin Corkery, while John McDonnell will serve as team manager, a role he held last year with the club's U18 side, who went on the lift the Leinster Premier Division title.
Kenny comes to Dundalk at a tough time, with the Senior side having just been relegated from the Leinster top flight in 2022 and having had to dig deep to get themselves out of another relegation dogfight in Division 1B this season.
All of Dundalk RFC's energy will be on rectifying the current situation and making sure they are promotion contenders in the year ahead. And with a talented crop of underage players coming through, they should have a nice mix of youth and experience to achieve that goal.
