Old Dundalk Society will be holding a Summer excursion this year, on Saturday 1 July, when it will visit the Fingal area of Dublin and then on to the Botanic Gardens Glasnevin.
The outing will visit Skerries Mills, where those attending will have tea/coffee and a guided tour of the historic site. The craft shop and a Farmers Market will also be available on the day.
Leaving Skerries the second stop on the tour will be in Swords County Dublin where the tour will visit Swords Castle, which has been recently renovated by the Office of Public Works (OPW). Afterwards there will be the opportunity to explore the town of Swords.
After visiting Swords, the tour will make its way to the Botanic Gardens in Glasnevin for a guided tour of the famous gardens, which are currently looking resplendent with summer colour.
Leaving Glasnevin, the tour will go directly to Donegan’s Restaurant at Monasterboice, for dinner. Departing directly after dinner, arriving back in Dundalk at 8.00pm (approx.)
A luxury coach with accompanying guide, Michael Gaynor, will depart from Mulholland Avenue on Saturday 1 July at 9.00am sharp. The all-in tour subscription is €60 for members, and €65 for non-members.
Bookings can be made at: Connell and Co. Drapers, Church Street, Dundalk and must be accompanied by full subscription. Booking commences on Tuesday 20th June, and the latest date for booking is Thursday morning 29th June. Intending participants are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
