Dundalk Special Olympics club call for volunteers

Dundalk Special Olympics club had a fantastic 2023.

The club has expanded extensively over the past six years.

The club committee said it is delighted being able to offer sporting opportunities to more athletes from the Louth community.

With the growth of the club a need for volunteers also arises.

“Working with athletes with special needs, we do need those extra hands to ensure that the athletes get the best coaching and support during trainings.” Sharon Johnson, club secretary said.

Dundalk Special Olympics club offer training in four different sports, athletics, football, bocce and swimming. Training is once a week.

The club is asking the community of Dundalk to get involved by volunteering their time to offer the local athletes the best training opportunities possible.

Summertime the athletes get to take a well-deserved break from training until September.
