Faughart CNS in Dundalk celebrates success with Fun Day

Faughart CNS experienced a joyous celebration during the Summer Fun Day, leaving the staff, parents, and students elated. The event, orchestrated by the Parents' Association, served as a magnificent commemoration of the remarkable achievements of Faughart CNS pupils this year.

Triumph for GAA Football Team
The Faughart CNS School Football team, led by their coach Mr. Andreu D'Arcy, emerged victorious by clinching the prestigious Joe Marks Trophy and the Corn tAthair Sheán O Caoláin cup this year. Remarkably, this marks the first time ever that a school in Faughart has secured these esteemed accolades.

SFI Platinum Award for Excellence in STEM
Faughart CNS reached new heights of excellence in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education.

Through their active engagement with the Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) program, in collaboration with the European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO), they earned the esteemed Platinum Award for their unwavering commitment and enthusiasm for STEM throughout the year.

This interactive and engaging program aims to foster interest in STEM subjects among primary school students, parents, and teachers nationwide.

Blue Star Award for Holistic Program Completion
Recognizing their comprehensive participation in the Blue Star Programme, Faughart CNS proudly received the Blue Star Award in June.

The school showcased their dedication by actively engaging with all four elements of the program — historical; geographical;, cultural and creative; and institutional —and by organizing a vibrant Europe Day Celebration.

This award highlights their commitment to fostering a well-rounded understanding of European culture and heritage among their students.

Triumph in the Taiscéalaí 3D Printing Challenge
The talented 5th and 6th class pupils of Faughart CNS achieved an impressive feat by emerging as winners in the Taiscéalaí 3D Printing Challenge, held in partnership with Creative Spark.

This innovative program introduces primary school students and teachers to the world of 3D design and printing across Ireland.

By participating in this accessible and engaging eight-week program, Faughart CNS students not only developed their skills in science, technology, engineering, and math but also gained confidence, knowledge, and valuable life skills.

Dundalk Agricultural Show Honours
Faughart CNS pupils once again showcased their exceptional talents, earning recognition at the Dundalk Agricultural Show.

They emerged as winners in both the Art and Handwriting categories, solidifying their artistic prowess and commendable penmanship.

Fun Day Unites School Community
The Fun Day provided a splendid opportunity for the entire school community to come together and revel in an afternoon of celebration, amusement, and community spirit, a school spokesperson said.
