Seamus Murtagh with Sandy the falabella pony
The residents of St Oliver's Community Hospital were thrilled by the visit of 'Phil's Farm' with their selection of people friendly animals recently.
Sandy the falabella pony and Joe the Alpaca proved to be firm favourites on the day and brought smiles to all.
A couple of kid goats also put in an appearance bringing back childhood memories to many of the residents, the bunny rabbits were also a big hit.
The event proved to be a hands on occasion with residents getting the opportunity to get up close and personal with the various animals thanks to the helpers who were in attendance to support and answer any questions.
Surprisingly the 2 foot long snake also got a few cuddles.
Music provided a relaxed background to the mornings activity thanks to Brian Mohan and Friends.
The management of St Oliver's were able to finance the day due to the ongoing fundraising efforts of the 'Friends of St Oliver's' committee.
The fundraising committee are holding a 5k run/walk on Saturday September 16th starting at Dowdallshill Football Ground, support for this event would be gratefully appreciated.
