Multiple motorists detected speeding on Louth roads as Gardaí urge caution

GARDAÍ in Louth have urged motorists to take caution and slow down as multiple speeding offences were detected on Friday.

Dundalk Roads Policing unit conducted speed checks on local and regional roads across the county, including a location at Tallanstown where the highest speed detected was 79kph in a 50km zone.

Other significant speed detections were 115kph in a 80km zone on the R173 Bellurgan, and 111kph in a 80km zone on Collon
Road.

On Facebook, Garda Síochána Louth urged motorists to take caution, as "death figures are tragically up on this time last year in the country."

"We would remind people to drive appropriately with the schools and darker evenings returning."
