Painter Orla Barry is one of the artists that will exhibit at the exhibition
For the third year in a row, Bridge Street Studios will host a summer exhibition of new work in their in-house gallery in the 250-year-old grain store in Dundalk.
The exhibition titled “Flourish” will include new work by textile artists Rachel Tinniswood and Caóilfíonn Murphy O Hanlon, Ceramicists Mary Cowan and Sarah McKenna, Sculptor Orlaith Cullinane, Mixed Media Artist Fiona Quigley, Painters Orla Barry, Suzanne Carroll and Cathy McKeown.
Ceramicist Sarah McKenna said: “All artists know the value of a deadline and our group exhibitions give all the artists the opportunity to create new work.
“It is very interesting to select a common theme and see the broad range of responses from nine different artists all working in the one environment.”
This will be the first studio exhibition for new member Cathy McKeown.
Cathy is a graduate of NCAD and joined Bridge Street Studios earlier this year after a successful exhibition in An Tain Arts Centre Dundalk.
“Choosing a title or theme which has broad meaning means that each artist can take their work in many directions - with flourish some may look at growth and development while another may look at bold gestures”, adds Rachel Tinniswood
The show opens with a wine reception on Thursday, 14th September, at 7pm and will open daily until Saturday, 23rd September.
With a special event on Friday 22nd September for Culture Night.
Venue - Bridge Street Studios, Dundalk
Opening hours - 14th September to 23rd September - daily 10am to 5pm - closed Sunday
