Louth Cllr welcomes improvement to mobile coverage in Carlingford and Omeath

Cllr John Reilly

Dundalk-Carlingford's Cllr John Reilly has welcomed recent improvements to mobile coverage in both Carlingford and Omeath villages in north Louth.

Cllr Reilly says that most mobile customers now have access to the 4G network in the vicinity of both Carlingford and Omeath.

"This is only a small step forward", claimed Cllr Reilly "as this area has been badly neglected with mobile connectivity.

"I am confident that both Carlingford and Omeath will have 5G mobile coverage soon, this is only playing catch up with other areas"

The Fine Gael councillor also stated that the Sheelagh-Hackballscross area has been left out of this round of upgrading work due to boundary issues with the existing mobile mast and the office of public works."

"I am currently working on this situation in the Hackballscross area", added Cllr Reilly, "to try and get this resolved for the local community."
