Gardaí who responded to a report of a person acting suspiciously at a local filling station, found a man and woman sitting in a parked car being abusive to passersby and customers leaving the shop, Dundalk district court heard last week.
Rose Cummins with an address at Lios Dubh, Armagh Road, Dundalk was charged with being intoxicated in a public place and using threatening, abusive or insulting behaviour at Muckian's Service Station, Carrick Road, Dundalk on July 30th last.
The court was told the defendant had no previous convictions.
The Defence solicitor said the 58 year old who has a number of medical conditions including COPD, had too many to drink and 'was rather abusive' and described it as being 'totally out of character'.
The case was put back to second calling to facilitate an apology and after hearing it was accepted by the garda, Judge Ciaran Liddy applied the Probation Act.
