'He was a lovely man' - Huge sadness after untimely death of former Dundalk priest
There is huge sadness in Louth this week after the untimely death of priest Fr Brian White.
Fr White served in a number of Louth parishes, including St Patrick's Dundalk, Blackrock and Haggardstown, as well as Keady and Warrenpoint in Armagh and Down respectively.
Fr White passed away peacefully at home in Armagh surrounded by his family, his RIP.ie death notice reads.
The Diocese of Armagh shared the news of his death this week.
They posted: "It's with great sadness that we share the passing of Fr Brian White, a priest of the Archdiocese of Armagh, a parishioner here in Armagh and a great friend to so many.
"We extend our deepest sympathies to Fr Brian’s brother, Fergal, sisters, Geraldine and Darina, the extended White family and all his friends and loved ones."
A book of condolences has been opened for Fr White in St Patrick's Dundalk amid glowing tributes to the much-loved cleric.
One tribute read: "So very sorry to hear of Father Brian's passing, a lovely lovely man, condolence to all Brian's family and friends he will be sorely missed by everyone."
Another wrote: "He married us in 2015, the nicest kindest person you could ever talk to or meet. May he RIP. Condolences to all his friends and family."
A third person added: "So sorry to hear about Fr Brian. He was a lovely man! Fond memories of climbing Croagh Patrick with him and celebrating Mass at the top! Condolences to his family."
Funeral Details:
Fr. Brian will be reposing at his home, 19 Milltown Rd, Armagh. BT71 7NJ, on Friday from 6.00pm until removal on Sunday for 2.00pm Mass, In the Church of Immaculate Conception Tullysaran, burial afterwards in adjoining cemetery.
