President of Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, Una Goey, is urging business owners to reward employees by gifting Shop Local Gift Vouchers
President of Dundalk Chamber of Commerce, Una McGoey, is urging business to consider rewarding hard –working employees this Christmas using the Revenue’s Small Benefit Exemption Scheme, by gifting Shop Local Gift Vouchers
The Small Benefit Exemption was increased from €500 to €1,000 in Budget 2023. Employers can give vouchers twice to their employees each tax year.
Business owners could do this for Summer and Winter to help spread the cost over the year. This increase also applies for the 2023 tax year.
Under the Small Benefits Exemption Scheme, a Company Director and Employees can receive a non-cash bonus of up to €1,000 in value on a completely tax free basis each year.
As the payment must be in a non-cash form, the most common way to avail of this scheme is by purchasing gift vouchers.
Shop Local Gift Vouchers can assist in saving money by taking advantage of the Government Small Benefit Exemption Scheme.
Employers can save 56% on staff rewards now by giving employees a Shop Local Gift Voucher instead of cash.
