Frostival parade route & road closure plan for Dundalk announced

There will be a temporary road closure in place to facilitate the safety of the public attending the Frostival Carnival Of Light Parade Carnival of light parade this Friday 17 November.

The following roads will be closed temporarily from 6pm:

  • Griffith Court/ The Laurels
  • Church Street
  • Yorke Street
  • Clanbrassil Street
  • Batchelor’s Walk
  • Market Street
  • Market Square
  • Crowe Street
  • Roden Place
  • Franics Street
  • Upper Park Street
  • Rampart Lane
  • Riverlane
  • The Demesne/ Magnet Road
  • Longwalk Road

All roads along the route will reopen directly after the parade with the exception of Market Square – restrictions will remain in place until approximately 9pm.

The parade route is below:

The Carnival of Light parade at 7pm on Friday evening is highlight of the festival, and it promises to be a magical family affair and the biggest carnival performance to date, with a few surprises along the way!

The parade route will animate and illuminates the town centre as it weaves its way through Clanbrassil Street, Crowe Street, Francis Street and Park Street, turning at Oscar’s corner and towards the Demesne to its final destination at the Longwalk SC.

Martin Mc Elligott, Town Centre Commercial Manager, is encouraging the public to “Come and celebrate the start of the festive season in style with family and friends, from far and wide, inviting them to join us in Dundalk for County Louth’s biggest Christmas celebration!”
