Decision due next month on Dunleer climate change centre of excellence

The Market House in Dunleer

A decision is due from Louth County Council next month, on plans for a climate change centre of excellence at the Market House in Dunleer.

Dunleer Community Development Board Ltd applied for planning permission in June for single storey meeting rooms, which are also to be used as a climate change centre of excellence, to the rear of the back garden of the Market House in Dunleer.

According to the planning application the rooms are separate from the house itself. The site for the proposed development is on the grounds of a Protected Structure and is within an area of Special Archaeological Interest.

Louth County Council sought further information on the planned development in July, which was received by the local planning authority on 16 November.

A decision is now due on the application by 13 December 2023.
