The next acts to take part in the COLLDE project with An Táin Arts Centre and the Spirit Store are Cork City born and bred singer-songwriter John Blek and genre-bending Irish musician and producer David.

They will take to the stage in the Spirit Store on Thursday March 7th at 10pm.

A prolific songwriter and touring artist, Blek likes to keep himself busy both in the studio and on the road. He has released seven solo albums and tours relentlessly across Ireland, UK, Belgium, Netherland, Germany and Denmark.

David Kitt is a unique and sincere songwriter with an expert ability to meld inspirations, eras and sounds, Kitt’s music taps into a diverse range of influences, and puts an eclectic experimental spin on traditional folk music.

Paul Hayes Director of An Táin Arts Centre said: “We were delighted to receive funding from the Late-Night Events programme by the Arts Council of Ireland, so that we can partner with the Spirit Store.

“It has been a goal of ours since establishing An Táin Arts Centre, 10 years ago, to work with the Spirit Store who we admire greatly.

“This funding allows us to support a host of top eclectic Irish artists and local artists who will showcase their talent in support slots.

“This is a new departure for An Táin Arts Centre and one that we are very much looking forward to.”

Derek Turner of the Spirit Store , speaking about the partnership, said: “Given the strength of arts, music and culture in Dundalk and the public’s renewed energy for attending events this is a perfect opportunity for the Spirit Store and An Táin Arts Centre to work together on improving the standards of what we can both offer to the late night economy in the area.

“We look forward to presenting these four events and to establishing a closer relationship with An Táin Arts Centre in the future.”

COLLIDE is a late-night collaboration, produced by An Táin Arts Centre in association with the Spirit Store, supported by the Late-Night Events Programme from the Arts Council of Ireland in partnership with Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sports and Media.

John Blek and David Kitt play at the Spirit Store on Thursday 7th March.
