Slight fall in Louth Live Register numbers

Small monthly fall in number of people signing on Live Register in Louth

There was a slight fall in the number of people signing on the Live Register in Louth in March, according to figures released on Monday by the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

7,468 people signed on the Live Register in Louth in March, down from 7,484 in February and also down from the same period last year, when 7,611 people signed on in March 2023.

Looking at it in more detail, the number of people signing on in Dundalk, fell from 3,427 in Feburary to 3,391 in March. It is also down from 3,443 in March 2023.

In Drogheda, 3,318 people signed on in March, down from 3,324 in February, and also down from 3,407 in March 2023.

In Ardee, the number of people signing on in March rose however, compared to February.

759 people signed on the Live Register in March, up 26 from 733 in February, but down two on the 761 who signed on in March of last year.

Nationally, the seasonally adjusted Live Register total for March 2024 was 174,500 people, down by 400 people or 0.2% from February 2024.

The unadjusted Live Register total stood at 173,396 people for March 2024.
