Louth Green Party Chair, and former member of Louth County Council, Mark Dearey, has appealed to voters to take account of the Climate challenge when casting their votes in Friday's Local And European Elections.
Mr Dearey said: "As a low lying coastal county we are particularly vulnerable to sea level rise.
"Dundalk and Drogheda are among the most vulnerable towns in the country and Ardee in parts is flood prone.
"This threat needs to be taken seriously and effective protections be put in place . We need a Council that undertstands just how real the threat is to our villages and towns.
"In Cooley too we saw what a truly intense rain weather event looks like, and how much damage it can cause. We are stll dealing with the fall out from that.
"No matter where in Louth you live, there is a Green candidate on your ballot paper.
"I would appeal to voters to take real Climate action by voting 1 for the Green Party candidate on their ballot paper on Friday."
