Bláthnaid McClean who will run sewing workshops
An Táin Arts Centre, Bláthnaid McClean of Bó Studios and Elizabeth Omowumi, of Djk creations have just launched two eight week Sewing Workshops for Teens and Adults, starting this July.
These workshops are suitable for beginners, those who haven’t touched a sewing machines in a while or those who haven’t been able to finish a whole project and need some guidance.
Learn how to use a sewing machine, how to print simple designs for your own projects, how to cut from patterns, starter projects and of course, some life-long valuable skills.
Bláthnaid studied at NCAD receiving a BA in Fashion Design. When she left college, she started up her own label selling out of the Design Centre in Powerscourt Townhouse in Dublin.
She was awarded a scholarship to study Bespoke Menswear Tailoring (CPD Diploma) with the National Tailoring Academy (in association with Louis Copeland).
She spent some time working as a Product Designer for Horseware Ireland, and on a bespoke bridesmaid commission.
In 2018 she started up her own hand screen printed T-shirt business called BEEZTI, selling her unique designs online.
These eight week courses start on Saturday 6th July and run until 24th August.
