The median house price for houses sold with the Dundalk Eircode A91 in April 2024 was €270,000, according to figures released by the CSO (Central Statistics Office), an increase of €5000 on the previous month.
Of the 47 houses sold in Dundalk in April, 18 were to first time buyer owner-occupiers; 25 to former owner-occupiers and 4 were to non occupiers.
Thirty-nine of these houses were existing builds while eight were new homes.
The median price of the new houses sold was €357,500 and the median price of existing houses sold in April was €260,000.
In Drogheda, the median price of residential properties sold in A92: Drogheda in April 2024, was €338,356.
Twenty-two of the houses sold were new houses and thirty-four were existing. The median price for the new houses sold was €375,000 while for existing houses it was €265,000.
Nationally, the national Residential Property Price Index (RPPI) increased by 7.9% in the 12 months to April 2024, with prices in Dublin rising by 8.3% and prices outside Dublin up by 7.6%.
In April 2024, 3,572 dwelling purchases by households at market prices were filed with the Revenue Commissioners, up by 9.5% when compared with the 3,262 purchases in April 2023.
The median price of a dwelling purchased in the 12 months to April 2024 was €335,000.
The lowest median price for a dwelling in the 12 months to April 2024 was €169,000 in Longford, while the highest median price was €624,999 in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
Commenting on the release, Niall Corkery, Statistician in the Prices Division, said:
“Residential property prices rose by 7.9% in the 12 months to April 2024, up from 7.4% in the year to March 2024.
“In Dublin, residential property prices saw an increase of 8.3%, while property prices outside Dublin were 7.6% higher in April 2024 when compared with a year earlier.”
