A man in his 30s was charged and appeared before Drogheda District Court on Monday morning, following the aggravated burglary.

Gardaí make urgent appeal for witnesses following arrest of burglar with knife in Louth home

Gardaí have appealed for information from the public following an aggravated burglary involving a man armed with a blade in a residence in Carlingford.

The burglary occurred at a residence in Gyles Quay in Carlingford, Co.Louth at 2.45pm on Sunday afternoon.

During the incident, a male entered the property with a knife. The man was arrested by Gardaí after fleeing the property.

The man, aged in his 30s, has been charged and appeared before Drogheda District Court on Monday morning.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information on this incident to come forward.

A garda spokesperson said that gardaí are particularly keen to speak with persons who may have seen a white BMW Jeep in the Gyles Quay area between 2pm – 3pm on Sunday afternoon, 23rd June.

Anyone who has camera footage (including dash cam) is asked to make this available to Gardaí.
