Pearse Park Residents Committee are inviting all past and present members of their community to join in the 75th anniversary celebrations of Pearse Park in Dundalk.

This vibrant town centre area has seen many dedicated volunteers strive to transform the area in recent years.

Anybody travelling through town could not fail to be impressed by the colourful transformation of the Fairy Garden by local residents.

The Residents Committee have created many beautiful floral displays around the estate. Brand new signage has also been erected in the area in recent times.

Also a herb garden was created, providing fresh, free herbs to locals.

The award-winning Medicinal Dog Garden is the only one in Ireland and enjoyed by the many dog walkers in the area.

During the year, volunteers come out to carry out street clean ups and regular litter picking.

Louth County Council has been a great support in all these endeavours.

To continue to build on this great community spirit, a very special event is being organised on August 10th from 8pm in Clan Na Gael’s Hall. This will celebrate 75 years of the building of Pearse Park.

On the night there is a fun, music-bingo event, that is guaranteed to get everyone in the sing along spirit, with many prizes on offer. Suitable for all ages and no music knowledge required.

Food will be served. Disco after.

As part of the celebrations, the committee are creating an exhibition of photographs of Pearse Park, down through the years. They are appealing to the public to help them with any photos they may have of the area or people from the area.

If you have anything to contribute you can drop them to Robbie Rafferty at 102 Pearse Park or Dominic Keating, 87 Pearse Park, with your name on the envelope. The photos will be copied and returned ASAP.

Tickets on sale soon for this event.

Can’t wait to see you all on August 10th”, a Pearse Park Residents Committee spokesperson said.
