Loved ones of the late Christopher Myles have expressed their anger online

'Disgusting behaviour' - Family of deceased Louth father condemn scam Facebook page

Mourners are condemning a scam Facebook page which appears to have been set up to promote the funeral service of a recently deceased Louth man.

The page - called 'Christopher Myles Funeral Service Live' - has just two posts, both posted on July 9 when the death of Christopher Myles of 49 Woodview Park, Dundalk was announced.

One of the posts is an uploaded profile picture of Myles, while the other is a photo of Myles in front of what appears to be the Munich Football Arena in Germany.

Both pictures were lifted from Myles' personal Facebook page.

A mourner yesterday (July 10) warned family and loved ones on Facebook to avoid the page, stating, "THIS IS A SCAM PAGE CAN EVERYONE REPORT PLEASE."

Others commented to express their disgust, with one person stating, "Reported and blocked. Disgusting behaviour."

Another said, "I got a friend request from it, absolutely disgusting behaviour" while another commented, "That’s desperate carry on."

Myles - who died suddenly at home - is reposing at his family home today between 2pm and 8pm (house strictly private at all other times).

He will be removed to St Nicholas Church tomorrow morning (Friday July 12) at 10.20am, arriving for funeral mass at 11am.

Burial will follow in St Patrick's Cemetery.

According to RIP.ie, Myles is the cherished son of Seán and Jacquline, brother to Seán and Jason and dear father to Rósie.

He is pre-deceased by his grandparents Mary and Christy (Murray), Kitty and Frank (Myles), Uncle Victor (Murray), aunts Carmel (Martin) and Rose (Myles), and uncles Frank and Peter (Myles).

He will be sadly missed and remembered with love by his heartbroken parents, brothers, daughter, nephews Nathan, Ruben and Jason, niece Jayde, Seán's partner Nicollette, Jason’s partner Aoibheann, aunties Anita, Marian, Catherine and Margaret, Uncle Major, Anita’s partner Gus, cousin Aaron, extended family, neighbours, friends, and by all who knew and loved him.
