Louth designer Caroline Duffy is a finalist in the Irish Made Awards

Dundalk artist and designer Caroline needs the publics vote to help her be crowned the winner of the prestigious award

Louth artist and textile designer Caroline Duffy is bringing a flourish of floral blooms to the Irish Made Awards this year.

This year is her third years as a finalist. She was awarded Highly Recommended in 2023, and says she is hoping to bring home first place this year.

But she needs your help. As it is a public vote, it’s down to you to help her come first in the fashion category.

Caroline is artist and textile designer living in Dundalk.

She told how while studying at the National College of Art & Design in Dublin, she fell in love with textiles and pattern.

After graduating from NCAD in 2001, she spent 10 years creating surface and textile design for Textile Houses in New York, Sydney and London.

She said she then decided to start her own design and art business, back here in Ireland.

With Caroline’s art her signature colourful pieces are all inspired by nature – whether it’s a floral or
abstract art, she paints in a variety of techniques – watercolour, acrylics and mixed media - on canvas or water based paper.

Her art has been sold all over the world, from Ireland, across Europe to Asia.

Caroline said she is delighted to launch a brand new collection. Standout, sustainable new garment shapes to add to her slow fashion collection - luxury silk co-ordinates of Palazzo pants, tops, wrap skirts, hair bows and scarves.

She said: “My passion is to bring well-being to her customer by surrounding them with nature and flowers.

“Studies have shown that flowers can induce creative energy and positive vibes, ultimately making us feel better.

“I create to enrich people’s lives with more joy, happiness and inspiration.

“Redefining what it means to be a free-spirited strong person by surrounding them with the healing qualities of flowers through unique, uplifting art for mind, body and home.

“I strives to transform female mental health challenges into golden opportunities for change, but encouraging my community to be creative, mindful and be fully aware of the healing qualities in nature.”

Caroline said her brand Caroline Duffy Designs will redefine what it means to be a free-spirited strong Irish woman by surrounding her with the healing quality of luxury florals for mind, body and home.
