Meet the Louth General Election candidates: Ryan McKeown - Independent Ireland

Ryan McKeown

"My name is Ryan McKeown. I am 21 years old, born and raised in Dundalk, and I am proud to be a candidate in the upcoming general election, representing the Independent Ireland party.
"Our party is led by Deputy Michael Collins TD, Richard O'Donoghue, and Michael Fitzmaurice TD.
"To the people of Louth, I ask for your support on November 29th to represent you in the Dáil.
"I believe it is time for a new generation of politicians—fresh faces with the energy and innovative ideas to deliver real, common-sense solutions.
"On the doorsteps, I am hearing the concerns of hardworking families in Louth, and I share their frustration. The key issues include:
"Housing: First-time buyers are locked out of the housing market due to failed policies, and there are currently 150 children in Louth growing up in emergency accommodation.
"Mental Health: Our mental health services have failed too many people, with no accountability for these ongoing failures.
"I have promised to support and help enact Maxi`s Law if elected to Dáil Eireann. Crosslanes in Drogheda are a disgrace and a danger to people's lives.
"The families of those who have been affected by these failures deserve accountability.
"Cost of Living: Families are struggling to make ends meet under the weight of a crippling cost-of-living crisis.
"Disability Services: Children with disabilities are being neglected and sidelined by past governments.
"Why do I believe I’m the best person to represent Louth in the Dáil? Because I’m one of you.
"I’m a working-class person who understands the struggle of living week to week. I know what it’s like to feel let down by governments that have failed us for centuries.
"If elected, I promise to have the backs of hardworking taxpayers and to stand up for the issues that matter most to you.
"I’m not here to make empty promises. The reality is that whoever forms the next government will face the monumental task of cleaning up decades of failure.
"What I can promise is that I will work morning, noon, and night to fight for you, for Louth, and for a better future for all of us.
"I ask you to have faith in me and give me one chance. If I fail, you can replace me. But I assure you, I will stand in opposition and fight tirelessly for the people of Louth and for the progress we all deserve.
"So Vote Ryan McKeown No.1!"
