'A beautiful, generous person' - Tributes pour in following the death of beloved Louth music teacher

Tributes have flooded in following the death of music teacher Olive Powderly from Drogheda
Olive died peacefully at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Thursday, 28 November.
Olive was the founder and director of Tocatta House Music School and evidently from the kind words shared online following her passing, she made a great impact on the lives of many people in the community.
Tocatta House Music School shared a tribute on Facebook to Olive, saying: "Olive was an incredible friend, mentor and teacher to many people over the years, and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her."
She has been described as a wonderful and gifted music teacher by many online, with people taking to express their admiration and sympathies to Olive's family.
On Olive's RIP.ie notice, the Victoria College of Music in London said: "Olive leaves a vast legacy of encouragement for aspiring musicians of all ages, not only in Drogheda, but throughout these islands: in cities and at remote country centres, where she has spent many years creating a real rapport with thousands of examination candidates."
Her influence was felt by many, with one person writing: "A unique lady, kind, warm and giving. I worked for her in English language schools. Her energy, enthusiasm and warmth were boundless. She was more than a boss. She became a friend. A beautiful, generous person. She will be missed by many."

Another person shared: "Olive shaped many lives, mine included, and was a gift that kept giving, even in hard times. A real character, a boss, a teacher, a fighter, a mentor, and a lover of life. Gone far too soon. We are all that much poorer with her gone."

Olive will be reposing at the home of her sister Brenda in Painstown (A92 X967) on Friday from 3pm until 6pm and on Saturday from 2pm to 6pm.

Funeral Mass will then take place on Sunday afternoon at 2pm in St. Mary's Church on James Street, with burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery.
