The Drogheda community is mourning the loss of a "genuine lady", Marian Kierans, following her untimely passing on Sunday.
Marian Kierans (née Mc Carthy) of Jane’s Terrace, Scarlet Street, Drogheda and formerly of Yellowbatter passed away unexpectedly at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital on Sunday, December 8.
Marian is predeceased by her parents Catherine (Kitty) Mc Carthy and Paddy (Tipp) Mc Carthy.
She will be “greatly missed by her husband Sean and her heartbroken children Mandy, Lyndsey, Kelly and Shane, son-in-law Paul, daughter-in-law Julie, Mandy’s partner Martijn and Kelly’s partner Chris, grandchildren Olivia, Hannah, Robyn, Logan, Indie and Ella, extended family and friends,” reads her death notice on RIP.ie.
“I am so shocked and saddened to hear of Marian's passing. The most beautiful genuine lady. Such a huge loss to OLOL where she without fail smiled through her day and warmed many hearts with her beautiful smile and helpful and kind ways. Thinking of her family and friends at this sad time," read one tribute posted on RIP.ie.
Another mourner wrote: “Our deepest condolences to Sean and family. We are so sorry on the passing of Marian she was such a wonderful person and a lovely neighbour. You are in our thoughts and prayers at this sad time.”
A third tribute read: “Marian will always be in our memory. She was a lifelong friend and we were blessed to have her in our lives. She was one special lady and we will miss her very much.”
Marian will be reposing at Townley’s Funeral Home, Crosslanes on Thursday, December 12 from 4pm until 7pm.
On Friday a private celebration of Marian’s life and her cremation will take place with her family requesting mourners to wear brightly coloured clothing.
