Award-winning steak
Callaghans Butchers & Deli in Ardee have been honoured with a tasty award after being named as having the best steak in Leinster.
The top butchers won the Best Striploin Steak in Leinster award at the National Steak Challenge in the Curragh Co Kildare.
Peter Callaghan said: “We are absolutely thrilled to announce our success at the recent National Irish Steak Challenge hosted by Associated Craft Butchers of Ireland and judged by over 30 experts, including the renowned John Relihan and Darina Allen.
“It all starts with the farmer, who was Niall Reilly from Stabannan, who supplies us regularly with quality stock and then our shop team of craft butchers who help maintain our quality process which includes dry ageing for 14 to 21days ,expertly cut and presented.

“And the results are the Number 1 Striploin Steak in Leinster.
“This achievement reflects our dedication to producing the very best for our customers. “From selecting the finest locally sourced beef to perfecting every cut, we take immense pride in the work we do - and this award is a testament to that commitment.
