Cllr Dolores Minogue is urging people to ensure that the defibrillators located at their premises are in working order.
Louth County Councillor, Dolores Minogue, is urging those in the local community who have defibrillators on their premises, to ensure they are in working order, saying that it is "essential that these devices are maintained and tested regularly to ensure they function properly when needed most".
The Ardee councillor said that "these life-saving devices have the potential to make the difference in critical moments, especially in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. When every second counts, having a defibrillator readily available can significantly increase the chances of survival."
"The presence of a defibrillator in your establishment is not just a safety measure but a commitment to the health and well-being of your community. However, it’s essential that these devices are maintained and tested regularly to ensure they function properly when needed most."
Cllr Minogue continued, "I ask that you take the time to check the condition of your defibrillator(s) and make sure they are fully operational. This small action can save a life and protect families from the heartache that may otherwise be inevitable.
"If you need guidance or assistance in maintaining your defibrillator, please do not hesitate to reach out to a certified provider or your local emergency services. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe."
