"We are so proud of how they conducted themselves with respect and reverence for the President's home. It’s safe to say this experience will stay with them for a lifetime,"- Scoil Eoin Baiste
Sixth class students at Scoil Eoin Baiste in Louth had the opportunity to visit Áras an Uachtaráin.
The children wrote letters to express their interest in visiting the Presidents residence in Dublin, making this once in a lifetime trip possible.
Upon arrival, the children were warmly welcomed by Sergeant Mulligan, representing President Michael D. Higgins, and Mark, who serves as the President's secretary.
The children then went on a historical journey through the residence, where portraits of past presidents could be seen and the children ventured into the breathtaking gardens for a relaxed and informative tour.
"We are so proud of how they conducted themselves with respect and reverence for the President's home. It’s safe to say this experience will stay with them for a lifetime," Scoil Eoin Baiste said.
"This unforgettable trip wouldn’t have been possible without the generosity and support of many. A huge thanks to Pat Keenan, who kindly sponsored the bus, and to driver John, who ensured we arrived safely and on time.
