Oriel Park is set to host a memorable football spectacle this Saturday at 1pm, as legends from Dundalk FC take to the pitch for the Charli Mae Shield — a charity match in aid of Féileacáin.

With over €6,000 already raised, excitement is building as fans look forward to a day filled with nostalgia, community spirit, and top-class football.

The event brings together past players and fan favourites for a great cause, supporting Féileacáin — a charity that provides support to families affected by the death of a baby during or after pregnancy.

The Dundalk Legends squad features an impressive line-up, captained by Stefan McKevitt and managed by Darius Kierans, with assistance from Mark Rossiter.

Opposing them will be a Team Charli Mae selection, led by Gary McCrudden and managed by Republic of Ireland U19 boss Tom Mohan, with assistant Mick Neville.

A few more Dundalk names are still to be confirmed before the big kick-off on Saturday afternoon, adding to the anticipation of what is shaping up to be a thrilling encounter.

For those unable to attend in person, the match will be live-streamed on The Town End Podcast’s YouTube channel, giving fans around the country — and beyond — the opportunity to support and donate from afar.

Féileacáin was formed in 2009 by a group of bereaved parents to offer support to anyone affected by the death of a baby around the time of birth. It is now the national charity supporting families affected by perinatal loss.
