Dundalk punk folk musician Jinx set to take to the stage in An Táin

Local punk folk musician Jinx Lennon

Local punk folk musician Jinx Lennon is set to electrify An Táin Arts Centre on Wednesday May 16th at 8pm.

The Dundalk show is in the middle of Jinx's album tour for his new album 'The Hate Agents Leer at the last Isle of Hope ' which got the big thumbs up on RTE's Arena show recently.

The album is a look at modern Ireland North and South and it's challenges, the belief in music, family life, the North East border state of mind and the unusual characters you will find no where else but this locality, Jinx said.

He will be joined on the night by Chris Barry who produced Jinx's last few albums and Jamie Bishop who is a member of up and coming psychedelic country band The Shamrock Showband and his own act Muckno .

Just before the An Táin show Jinx and the lads will be off to the UK to play Bristol,Cornwall and the west of England.

Special guest on the night is Derry act Strength N.I.A. who plays his own brand of manic folk guitar and stories of his manic  daily life along the river Foyle.

His other version of the band is like a post punk take of the Doors.

The Muckno album 'Muck For Hamchildren' ithe Strength N.I.A album 'Just Rory' are both available on Bandcamp.

The new Jinx album is available on Bandcamp and iTunes.

Jinx has also toured with John Cooper Clarke, has shared a stage with Christy Moore and The Fall and has appeared on the Tommy Tiernan Show.

Prepare for a memorable evening at An Táin as Jinx ‘brings his whole bag of fears, beliefs, observations, inspirations and hope and throws it out into the audience’ to uplift and inspire.

Keeping it simple in a neanderthal garage rock vein and his own brand of wired-up folk guitar music, Jinx creates a joyous communion with the audience each time he performs.

Expect no niceties, just lyrics and noise to help face the dread of everyday life.
Paul Hayes, Director of An Táin Arts Centre, said: “Its fantastic to welcome Jinx back to An Táin Arts Centre.

“He was in residency with us in 2021 and always brings a distinctly passionate energy and authentic voice to our stage.”

Tickets are €15 (plus €1.50 booking fee per ticket) and can be purchased at the box office in An Táin Arts Centre located on Crowe St., over the phone on 042 9332332 or online at www.antain.ie.
